
September Cocktail of the Month
9.1.21Fall is just around the corner, but we’re still hot here in South Louisiana. Another thing we’re looking forward to – getting together for tailgate parties!
September’s Cocktail of the Month features a fun batch recipe that be served at a tailgate event or any other party you’re hosting. Bourbon Sweet Tea does the trick! We turn to bourbon in the fall, but in the south, we hang onto our sweet tea year ’round!
We hope you enjoy this Bourbon Sweet Tea! Makes 1 gallon.
Bourbon Sweet Tea
4 cups boiling water
1 cup sugar
12 black tea bags
6 cups cold water
750 mL bottle of bourbon
Garnish – mint sprigs & lemon wedges
Yields approximately 1 gallon or 16 servings
INSTRUCTIONS:
-Combine boiling water and sugar in a heatproof container and stir until sugar is dissolved.
-Add tea bags and steep for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and discard. Let cool.
-Pour tea mixture into pitcher or dispenser. Add cold water and bourbon.
-Serve in ice filled highball glasses and garnish with a mint sprig and lemon wedge
